Fire & smoke damage restoration

Fire and smoke damage restoration.

After a fire there are usually three kinds of damage: what burned, the smoke and soot that spread through the house, and the water used to put it out. We handle all three, then rebuild.

What we do

  • Walk the property with you and document what can be saved.
  • Remove soot and smoke residue from surfaces.
  • Clean the air with air scrubbers and treat the odor.
  • Dry out water from firefighting.
  • Pack out and store contents that can be cleaned.
  • Rebuild damaged rooms.

Questions

Fire & smoke damage restoration: common questions

Is it safe to stay in the house after a fire?

Don't go back in until the fire department says it's safe. Even then, smoke residue and soot can irritate lungs, and the power or gas may need checking. If the fire was small and contained, we'll tell you at the inspection which rooms are usable.

Can smoke-damaged belongings be saved?

Many can. Hard items often clean well, and some fabrics can be cleaned too. Heavily burned or porous items may not be worth it. We pack out what can be saved, keep it in climate-controlled storage, and document what can't for your claim.

Why does the smell keep coming back?

Smoke gets into drywall, insulation, ductwork and fabrics, not just onto surfaces, and wiping walls doesn't reach it. Proper cleanup removes the residue at the source and treats the air, which is why odor work is part of the job rather than an afterthought.
