Water extraction & removal

Water extraction and removal.

Standing water keeps soaking into subfloors, drywall and framing for as long as it sits. Extraction gets the bulk of it out so drying can start, and our vans stay loaded with extraction equipment for exactly this.

What we do

  • Remove standing water from finished and unfinished floors.
  • Extract water from carpet and pad, and pull up pad that can't be saved.
  • Check where the water traveled so hidden wet areas get dried too.
  • Set up drying equipment as soon as extraction is done.

Questions

Water extraction & removal: common questions

Can wet carpet be saved?

Sometimes. It depends on the type of water and how long it sat. Clean water caught early can often be dried in place, while carpet pad usually has to go. Water from sewage or outside flooding is a different story. We'll tell you at the inspection what's worth saving.

Why not just use a shop vac?

A shop vac gets surface water but leaves a lot in carpet, pad and subfloor, and that's where mold and odor start. Commercial extraction removes far more of it, which shortens drying time and lowers the chance of hidden damage later.

What happens after extraction?

Drying. We set dehumidifiers, air movers and, where needed, injector dryers that push air into wall cavities and under cabinets. Progress gets checked until the materials are dry and documented, and then repairs can start.
